STATION: 93.5 RED FM
Music and Shows:HINDI, BENGALI.Hindi Music is often oldies. Bengali music recent and oldies.
RJs:They usually speak in old fashioned Hindi. Their Bengali RJ Sanjiv speaks artificial Bengali which is NOT FIT FOR BROADCAST. He is trying to sound FUNNY but frankly speaking, he is sounding as ridiculous as his sideburns!Jimmy is a very popular RJ and he has been trying his best to cater to the younger listeners. His show DIL SE is very popular though we still think most of the callers are immatured. Jimmy can come up with a proper QUIZ show and a COUNTDOWN show of his own.Nilam is a very good RJ and her voice is truly enchanting. Perhaps the secret lies in her experience at AIR FM Kolkata.RJ Siddharth is doing a good job with his RAAT BAKI BAAT BAKI. Its a GOOD show. Nandini is trying hard to win our hearts.Recently we heard that on Saturday night there was no Dance Mix. That was a pleasant surprise. Such shows are at times boring, though we appreciate the effort of the DJ even if the show is recorded and then broadcast.
Transmission:Usually Perfect though there have been instances of Breakdown. Recently we heard a goof up while playing recording of Jackie Shroff's Appeal about Tsunami victims.

STATION: 98.3FM RADIO MIRCHI
Music and Shows:HINDI, BENGALI, ENGLISH. The station has JUST ONE show for International music which is surprising for a city like Kolkata. They repeat their music which degrades the station's general rating.RJ SAUGATA is doing fine. We heard him in TOTAL FILMI on 12th January and he did a pretty good show. RJ ARNABI was on leave and in her place RJ Saugata hosted HELLO KOLKATA along with RJ MIR. Both of them did a good job. ARNABI has a good rival! HELLO KOLKATA OF RADIO MIRCHI is worth listening than WASTING TIME WITH ITS NAMESAKE ON 107FM RAINBOW! Hello Kolkata of Radio Mirchi is always interesting with the latest news and topics, SMS POLL and SPOOFs of RJ MIR along with RJ ARNABI. RJ MIR is indeed a TALENTED radio jockey. Radio Mirchi's Saturday night CLUB MIRCHI is really good though the tracks are still repeated and the mixing was possibly recorded. That lowers the credibility of the show. EVEN the RJs of Rainbow Fever on AIR 107 FM Kolkata at times do a better job with their BROKEN machines AND MISBEHAVING ENGINEERS! WE KNOW EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!
RJs:All of them are good and lively. Mention should be made of RJs ARNABI and MIR who are just Excellent in their delivery and sense of humour. RJ RICHA is doing a good job. She sounds bubbly and Happy! That makes us Happy too! RJ VISHAL has improved a lot and we are sure that he would come out as an Excellent RJ of the city. We heard PREKSHA and she is okay. Wishing her all the best! RJ DEEP is doing a FABULOUS job with all his shows. His BUMPER TO BUMPER is a very good DRIVE - TIME show. The games in his shows are often interesting. HOWEVER, it is unfortunate the 98.3 RADIO MIRCHI IS SCARED TO TAKE LIVE PHONE CALL. THEY JUST PLAY BACK RECORDED AND EDITED CALL.

STATION: AIR 100.2FM GOLD
Music and Shows:BENGALI, HINDI and ENGLISH Oldies.
RJs:Most of the RJs are NOT FIT FOR BROADCAST EXCEPT RJs for the Shows TOPPERS. It is basically a news channel. But news readers from Delhi are very very Dull. They JUST read the news. Don't really Present a News programme. WE DON'T KNOW WHY THIS CHANNEL IS BURDENED WITH SUCH CALLOUS PRESENTATION OF HINDI NEWS BROADCASTS.
Transmission: Often NOT Stereophonic. Levels Fluctuate most probably due to faulty Console. And as appears from all the AIR KOLKATA stations, FM GOLD's CD players and other machines are VERY VERY BAD!

STATION: AAMAR 106.2FM
Music and Shows:BENGALI ,HINDI. Music mostly repeated several times a day.The whole thing becomes VERY VERY BORING.
RJs:NOT FIT FOR BROADCASTING. Some of them have very POOR voice.

STATION: AIR 107FM RAINBOW
Music and Shows:BENGALI, INTERNATIONAL, HINDI.Shows are varied and interesting in terms of content EXCEPT Bengali shows like FILM UNLIMITED, TOLLY BOLLY SAMBAD, GAANER LAWRAI, KOTHAY HARIYE GELE, AFTERNOON PATROLEKHAR SURE which have become repetitive.AIR FM RAINBOW MUST come up with more phone-in English, Hindi and Multi-lingual shows to attract listeners and revenue. It shouldn't become just another music radio station. The Marketing must be dealt with by a professional house.
RJs:Most of them are NOT good. There are however few Exceptions LIKE Reshma RoyChowdhury, Biswadip Mitra, Mohua Sarkar, Keya Mukherjee, Ayantika - who are almost Perfect. However they too often suffer possibly owing to faulty studio set-up. It appears that RJ Biswadip isn't hosting CYBERLINE on Tuesday afternoons. That's a BIG loss for the listeners. The man has been tirelessly trying to make us laugh and bring in Fresh air in the afternoon shows. However, its NIGHT FLIGHT which is the gainer with Biswadip placed there. His Trivia Zone on 31st January was simply EXCELLENT! The HINDI MORNING SHOWS have been changed and the RJs are trying to prove that THEY ARE NOT FIT TO BE RJs! The concept and content of the HIndi Shows of AIR 107FM RAINBOW Kolkata are STUPID!!!!!!!! We heard AAJ RATE with SHOVON and KRISHNAKOLI on 24th January. What surprised us was the Choice of caller Tapashi Banerjee of Lake Gardens as the Judge for the debate. This same Tapashi Banerjee has been overtly critical about FM RAINBOW Shows. Is it a change of heart or is it a Classic case of CALLER-PRESENTER UNHOLY NEXUS? We call it unholy because CALLER TAPASHI BANERJEE and her friends RUBBISHED certain shows, after getting SPECIALISED GUIDANCE FROM Certain AIR FM BENGALI Presenters! WE KNOW ALL!!!!!!! We heard a WONDERFUL Ladies Circle on 15th January hosted by MOUSUMI MUKHERJEE. She did a great job by featuring experienced teachers. They discussed a recent controversy related to 'make up a teacher can use'. We need more such debatable topics on AIR 107FM Rainbow. She also called up a beautician who gave us ideas about bridal make up. Thanks to AIR FM RAINBOW for such a Ladies Circle. There has been a change in the afternoon PATROLEKHAR SURE and in its place we've heard SAAT PAKE LAAKH KATHA, which is a show on marriage. Its a good effort by the presenters. Much better than the usual blabbering of names in the IDIOTIC Bengali request shows of 107FM.
Transmission:Levels Low. Not upto the mark. We are NOT RULING OUT SABOTAGE by aggrieved employees who have been on HUNGER STRIKE in front of Television cameras!

STATION: 107.8 POWER FM
Music and Shows:HINDI, INTERNATIONAL. But they repeat the same music again and again. Hence its a BORING station. NO VARIETY. We even know of confirmed instances where the RJs call up their friends and relations to give away "Prizes" though they claim its a "LUCKY EIGHTH CALLER" who got it! Shall we say CHEATING?
RJs:Except RJ Sekhar and RJ Priyanka, rest speak with an artificial accent. Often sounds FUNNY. They just rush through their script, punctuated with the catchline ALL HITS ALL DAY. The station is okay for those, who don't understand the broader scope of radio.
